Amok at an IT conference

Rhino Thue ran amok at JavaZone in front of several hundred spectators. Thue’s way of solving a certain virus problem certainly raised some eyebrows.

This was during the presentation “A practical guide to high flying architectures”. During a demonstration of cloud computing involving the interconnection of six computers, Rhino Thue suddenly comes into view. He is very worked up and explains that one of the computers, number two to be exact, is in the grip of a virus. More sober minded programmers who were on hand in the hall did not show any great reaction; after all virus attack is something we are used to and normally able to handle.

Thune’s own solution
But Rhino Thue obviously had other ideas. First he pulled out the power cable, then the connection to the other computers and then, as if that weren’t enough, he took hold of a sledgehammer he’d apparently brought with him, and smashed the virus infected computer with the motto “attack is the best form of defence”.

Not everyone is familiar with this method of solving virus problems, even though they would have to admit it’s effective.

At 13.00 today there is a presentation on SOA in hall 6 with Dag Bryhn, that could also be quite exciting. Come and see!
